I was thinking it would be good to have sub forums to keep the forums neat and tidy

good idea - but I dont think there are enough threads for this to happen.

on this first page alone, the bottom thread was last used 8 days ago - and thats a long time on a forum.

There are plenty of threads just not enough catagories..

If there is no catagory for a thread then it could be posted outside of the sub forums?

I'll start by saying also that it's a good idea, but it is unnecessary. There are enough categories (if by category you mean forum) for all of the threads; each thread belongs to one forum and one forum only, and threads are often moved to the correct forum when they've been created in the wrong one. Add that to aflumpire's observation that the oldest thread on page 1 of Game Queries is 8 days old, and you can see why the idea of sub-forums is unneeded.

For most of the current sub-forums I agree it's not needed.

The real need is for the clan/league-related forums, where the number of threads and amount of traffic is much larger.

Probably pretty pointless (and unrealistic) to have Nick start messing around with this highly one-of-a-kind forum though - if we are to have new functionality for the FP forums, we would all be far better served by replacing the entire forum with modern, off-the-shelf forum software, where support for things like the OP is requesting is commonplace.
