It was discussed at lenght during the discussions on restricting rank choice in ranked games, and the general feeling always was that it should only apply to ranked games.
From a purely personal viewpoint, I would have been happy with it the other way round, so you could pick certain ranked opponents to have fun games in friendlies, but leave ranked games up to chance to keep ranking points a more meaningful stat.

i think he is saying choosing a rank person to play you in a friendly eg, choose 750 - 900, so you dont get newbies or guest, but the game is still friendly!

Yep, it would be the ability to filter opponents for friendlies in the same way we can for ranked games.

"Allowed rank on friendly games" you got to be kidding, 1st of all "friendly" means unranked, 2nd anyone can play you no matter what rank they are and 3rd whats the point?
in my eyes "friendly" means a quick game with someone when your waiting for a tourno or not, i sometimes play friendlys just before a tourno as there is no risk of losing any points.
thats all i've got to say for now on thi8s thread

Because it gives you a chance to try your game against opponents of varying ranks.
I never use it in ranked games, but would defintely use it if it were an option for friendlies.

If there is a specific rank range you want to play, go through the chat room and find a suitable rank opponent - then ask them for a friendly match.
I think thats the only short term soulution to this.

How should I post?
Before starting a new thread please perform a forum search. It's neater this way, and maybe your query has already been answered.

Well why do we need to know the rank of our opponents if we should play them anyway as surely it wouldnt matter,
sometimes people want a close game over a quick game so this sort of thing would be good

i think it is a good idea, say some like me wants play a higher rank player to learn some new stuff without losing rank, this is the best idea!

Point exactly. Some days I just don't feel like playing rank, so having this option would make it much nicer to find or sort out a player rankwise.
