I'm disgusted at being disqualified from a tourney.

I entered an 8balluk marathon comp and whilst waiting, they logged me out for being idle, i was waiting for the first round of matches to finish!!!

So ive just waited for ages, just to be booted....very annoyed!!

what i do is if I am doing something else while im waiting, I will just play a shot or something when I know there is less than 20 minutes left on the round clock.

I have thought about suggesting that the idle thing is scrapped if you were in a tournament, but I think that would lead to more DQ's as people would forget that they were in if they had to wait 40 minutes.

Hmm that happened to me getting logged out for being idle but that happened just before the next round started, i saw i was logged out and i thought "oh crap i've been DQed" so i logged back in and i was shocked to find that there was an invite waiting for me for the tourno but i must of got the invite while logged out as i didn't hear a "boing" noise. I belive cause you got DQed and i didn't that there seems to be a new think that if you get logged out 1 min before you still get the invite but if you are logged out more than 1 min before you get logged out. I think that is what happens now lol

you aint the first and wont be the last, the idle feature is there for a reason, like aflumpire said just hit a ball every now and then

True enough Kev, then again, it would be nice if the timeout (currently 15 minutes I believe) could be raised a tiny bit, making it longer than the longest normal waiting period for between tournament rounds.

How much would it need to be raised anyway? 5 more minutes or so?

its a shame it couldnt be done so its the same time as the longest round in a marathon torny, not sure how long that time is now, is it 22 minutes or something like that

yeah, which is only 7 minutes more than the current timeout...

It seems to be 20 mins now as it seemed that long then i was last logged out. I'll time it when i get home from work unless someone else does

The timeout is currently 20 minutes, with only marathon tourney's going beyond that.

The thing is, you could have been doing nothing for 19 minutes before entering the tourney so matching it to tournament times is irrelevant.

You are not DQ's for being logged out when entered in a toruney, you are only DQ'd if you are not online when the invite is sent, so even if you logout, unless you are very unlucky (as the OP must have been), you should be able to get back online in time to play.

Well, assuming people use the links on the web site to join, rather than the link that appears in-game, then yes.

when ppl are waiting for a "boing", make that noise 1 minute before logout eventual with an announcement.

Or the timeout could just be disabled for anyone who has entered a tournament.

After all, if they have left the computer for any reason, they will be DQ'd for non attendance when the first round starts.
