(tiredness speaking)

why do people when they spot the funkypool clock running slow they have to make a new thread? when there are already threads out there about it

http://www.funkypool.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=15289 (still open for posting)
and
http://www.funkypool.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=10328

the funkypool clock is never running at the same rate as funkysnooker or big ben or sky or teletext, nick will only reset server when it gets bad (10min+) so do a search before you make a thread to keep things tidy.

Nick only resets the servers when there is an upgrade made to the site... Waste of time otherwise.

Also, 10 minutes is small compared to what it has been in the past. I remember the clocks reaching about 40-45 minutes behind actual time.

Those days were hell if you wanted to play tourneys

Also Jack, there really is no need to slate someone for asking a question. 73 posts means he's a newbie (no offence) and probably doesn't know of any other threads that exist due to not being around.

Calm down a little and let the mods deal with it if they find it an inappropriate thread.

Before starting a new thread please perform a forum search. It's neater this way, and maybe your query has already been answered.

you should really read the rules before you make ANY new threads

And how many duplicate threads have been made about new game types, doubles, different table designs and the like? Yet I don't see you preaching this around on those...

The question remains why on earth the server doesn't use one of the many common ways to synchronize clocks tho.

Not meant as critique to Nick at all, but there are a number of freely available protocols and Internet services for doing that.

I've always thought that tournaments should start at the advertised time (i.e. on the hour) instead of registration for them (which would start at 10 minutes to the hour). However, not everyone would agree with that... Anyway, with FunkyPool, the server has decided to have FunkyTime. Sounds like it involves dancing tho.

I have "preached" on a few others like the o2 one, but i dont always see "duplicated" threads as i dont always click on game queries.

Ok, lets leave it there please, as it's only going to cause a stir.

And add anything relevant to the topic (if possible)

I've finally got around to fixing the server clock - so it shouldn't fall behind any more!
