While i am playing funkypool, my internet sometimes crashes and when i try to close the internet down, it doesn't work. So, i just leave the internet open at the bottom of the page because its not responding. I then open a new internet which then works, but i cant log into funkypool because it says unable to login because i am already logged in to funkypool on the page that is not responding.

The only way i can resolve this is by restarting my computer, which then knocks me out of tournaments which had just happened.

It would be kind if you have any suggestions you can give me.

Thanks.

Do the old Ctrl Alt Delete thing and press "end program". It doesn't work straight away, but certainly speeds up the closing of the browser

i do the ctrl alt delete thing and i click end program, and i wait a good 5minutes and it still hasnt closed down the browser. Also when i do the ctrl alt delete, it closes down every webpage im on, not just the specific one i want closed (in which case this does not work anymore due to the webpage not closing at all)

Lol, Paula, ok!

dazpolz, do the Alt-Ctrl Delete, and on the bottom of the window it will show the CPU it will flicker from a high number to a low number, but post back the maximum you see (Have the game window open when doing that)

And also post back the amount of processes.

I've had the same problem, and I couldn't take it any more lol, so I just done a hole windows re-install, and it works perfect now!

Ok if your internet stops responding do Ctrl - Alt -Delete Combination...

Then don't press End Programme...

Instead click on Processes and find your internet browser

e.g.

firefox.exe
iexplorer.exe
gchrome.exe
safari.exe

etc etc...

Then when you have found your Internet browser press End Process and click OK

Then your internet will close without any delays

After that do a disk cleanup and a disk defragmentation on your computer...

Reset your computer and then you should be fine...

Any problems please tell me!

the CPU Usage went from 87% to 7%

the amount of processes is 87.

Wow that is very high compared to mine, that amount could slow down your PC, before I reinstalled windows I was hitting 100, and now I'm very low.

I would take rustythecat advice see if that helps.

Oh...I think you know lew!

On a similar note: MSN keeps logging me out and freezing completely, so I have to do Ctrl+Alt+Delete thing, half the time have to go to stop the process to hurry it up-I have three or for of the same 'msnmsgr.exe' process running sometimes, does this happen to anyone else? And does anyone know how to resolve it for good?

Tried disk clean-up and a defrag. was done very recently. It's merely a pain, and no more, but a pain I'd like gone lol.

Sounds like a corrupt registry string for your Java console. It can happen when you install upgrades to Java, as Java tends not to delete the previous installation before upgrading. As you may have noticed there have quite a few updates to Java over the last few months so this is a good candidate for the source of your problem. The clean up and defrag will help your computer no end, but it might not solve this specific problem. If after the defrag you are still having problems with freezing, go to the Sun website and download the latest Java Runtime Environment for whichever OS you are running. Go into your add and remove programs in control panel and uninstall all the Java Runtime Environments you find in there, the number you will have showing depends on how long since you did a fresh install of your OS (on my XP machine recently i had 6 different varients of it installed at the one time). Once you have cleared all of these out, install the shiny new one you just downloaded and you should be sorted. I had much the same problem on my XP machine a couple of months ago, and this sorted it right out mate. Hope this helps, if not feel free to let me know and I'll help you get to the bottom of it mate.

Ok when you end the process to msnmsgr.exe right click on it and select "End Process Tree"

Click ok if it comes up with a warning then reboot your computer and you should be fine
