I was playing against janmb and in 8 ball he nearly got a gb in first match and ended up winning it anyway. Then when he broke again for the second time he got a gb which made me virtually give up anyway.

The frame shud be replayed at the same score cos it is a bit unfair tht the game can be won or lost from a gb.

What does everyone else think?

My advice is don't give up after a GB....they count in tournaments, ranked and friendlys so why not clan games?

Seriously though, I don't like GBs either and wish they were fouls like would be the case in real pool.

This is a discussion about funkypool's rules for the different games though, and nothing special for the leagues. I for one would happily support a rule change on this topic, but this should really be in the game queries section as a funkypool issue rather than here in clans/leagues.

Its just a tad unfair tht u can lose like tht - if it was a re-rack and he broke and cleared up i wudnt of been bothered and just to make it worse i did a foul on the black in the next game.

Like jan said (and she is 100% right in this instance ), it's more a general game query than a direct relation to the clan event. I've long supported the idea of a re-rack when someone gets a golden break, it particularly annoys me that people have it almost down to a t and deliberately play for it, but I guess it will never be changed because too many people think getting a GB is a brilliant achievement...

I agree with everyone in the fact that if it's a GB then the game should be played over. Maybe that's something we can change for next season.

If a team lost the league title by 1 point and it was because of a gb then i think tht team wud vote for this to be changed

I think league games should play the games according to funkypool rules.

I would fully support replacing golden breaks for fouls like you get in real pool though.

weather its luck or not, Golden Breaks have been counted for a very long time. If you want to win on a golden break, well you should learn how to break properly.

Its a bit like saying that a soccer team should not earn 3 points after winning 1-0 after a controversial penalty kick...crap happens!!

Its a part of the game - this topic keeps reappearing every 3-6 months, and the general concenus always tends to be to keep the Golden Break.

As janmb said; the games should be played to funkypool rules. We are not playing for money, we are not playing for trophies; we are playing for a bit of fun - I like how this game has a few rules different to what we are used to playing.

Couldnt agree more with aflumpires comments... The people who are doing the moaning, did they say sorry to their opponents when they had their GBs.. Somehow I dont think so!!

Its all part of the fun and when you have a GB, then there is a feeling of achievement..

Man, i always congratulate the opponent if they GB me, sometimes when your potting the balls perfectly and someone breaks that run, it can get annoying.

These GB give the breakers something to aim for rather than the player trying to pot 7 balls + the black!

I always apologise for a golden break in both 8 ball games and don't purposely go for it. I have however found a good break which means I can try for runouts 75% of the time so I'm happier more that way.

9ball however as its a rule in real life I don't feel half as bad as I know that with fluke of the balls it could easily happen and if it happpens to me I'm first to congratulate on any game type. Only time I've been annoyed is when a considrerably lower ranked player asks you to play and you are weary about it but decide ahh well why not, then 1 game they get a golden break then run before playing again, I wouldn't be bothered if I had a chance to win my points back off them.
