Wow okay...so there I was playing ul_son in uk, when my game screen froze and I couldn't shoot. So I get a random shot time penalty, with almost every ball on the table, and it fouls the black!! I reckon it should just pot the white, or be ball in hand like mentioned before! Was quite frustrating I must say...

I think it should definitely be a foul. I've had a good few games where my opponent has had a random, which potted one of their balls, allowing them to continue. Very frustrating it is, it definitely needs a change.

Two completely different, but equally good reasons to replace the random with a foul.

in the middle of a reasonable run in straight and about to win - easy balls on including a couple over pockets

took work phone call which meant i couldnt play my shot - random took it and potted a ball so that i could continue

random shots seem fair enough.

I think for timeouts in straight the offending player should forfeit 5 pts and the oncoming player continues from where the balls are currently positioned. Maximum of 3 timeouts then they lose the game.

Well when i was playing a nicely ranked person .. they had 2 time outs ... then a normal shot then 2 time outs ... potting every ball .. on the time outs ... then ... with her miss .. i had to pot 2 balls to win .. unfortunately the game time expired .. making us both forefit... in an instance like this would it not be fair to let the more achieved player to proceed ... and yes ... i do think it should just stop play .... and let the other player play from where the ball is when the other player timed out ... Although this is messing with the rules of pool .. as u wouldnt just take a shot yourself if ur friend goes to the toilet ... ...


But in all fairness .. the Random shot is a good idea cos in real life u usually just get a friend to take a shot ... ...


i dont think 3 random shots is acceptable tho ... if ur here to play a gme stay nd play ... if not .. dont play ... i think .. 1 random shot and time out.. should be apprved ...
after that .. u should be warned ... and if u miss it again u get dq'ed .. Would it be tricky just to get this on a tournament match .. instead of just normal games lol
