My computer refuses to Hibernate or be put to sleep. I click on it and it just refuses to do so.

Please help, it's getting cranky because of lack of sleep!

Have a look in control panel > power settings, make sure hibernation is enabled.

You may also have to check that power management is enabled in your motherboard BIOS settings.

Hibernation is enabled in the power settings.

I was able to hibernate it just two days ago, but it suddenly stopped. As for the motherboard BIOS settings, I have no idea what that means lol, so if you could message me, or post a rough guide on what to do, that'd be helpful.

Any other suggestions are welcome too of course

Problem solved, it just fixed itself somehow

I have a problem with my pc where i can put it on standby but when i come bk the screen has gone blue with a load of jargon on it and i have to restart.

Yh thats what i been told its screen of death but tis still goin .

Do you back up your computer?

If so then go to the last posible date that you backed it up without that screen appearing and then restore it at that date.

If not, then the only other solution i can really think of is to copy every file you want to keep over to cd's, dvd's or any type of external memory (external hard drives, usb sticks etc) and format the computer!

Pot, maybe you could pick up a decent registry cleaner, something like ccleaner, it should reapir all of your damaged registry files and maybe make the blue screen stop, also should make your comp faster

And as for the standby, I have the same problem too, however there is no real use to it apart from those too lazy to switch the pc off properly, it does nothing apart from shut it down but have extra power going through it while on standby.

Shame on all you stand by users, ruining the environment
