I'm considering removing game support for the earlier Java version. Currently about 5% of users still use this version.
Removing this will enable a smoother game experience for the majority of the users.
To check your version you can visit here:

If you have version 1.1 and are unable to upgrade can you post here?

I'm fine with that I have version 1.6.0_07.
If this makes the game smoother it agree go for it those 5% will have to upgrade if possible.
It will be great if this makes the game run alot smoother.

Hey you don't need to post your versions. I'm just concerned that a few percentage will not be able to get online.
(I'm currently taking anonymous stats about Java versions to learn the percentages)

if you get rid of the old java version a lot of people from the less developed countries might not be able play because i know quite a few of them have old computors with very little memory and the computor would struggle if they had to install the 1.6 version of java.some who have installed it say the game crashes after a while with a java problem.

i would be one of the 5% with 1.1, im 34 i dont know how to upgrade these things ...when i took computing we had to write the programs before you could do anything its all too technological for me!!! lol....seriously though i'm a bit miffed at the news.

suzukisonya, go to http://www.java.com and follow the instructions.
For others, isn't it possible to find version 1.2 and upgrade to that? Since its only 1.1 being removed, 1.2 should be fine?
Edit: Java version 1.2 download page. http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.2/download.html#sdk

I was running an illegal copy about a year ago and had no problems updating java. Can you download any of the older versions even? It doesn't have to be 1.6.
