Why is it that when I play some one and my time runs out the computer gives me a foul. but when the person I am playing does not make a shot on time the computer says so and so is not responding? then after a couple of minutes they make a shot and have no penalty? thanks.

When you dot take your shot in time the the comp does it automatically, but if you have a bad connection on the Internet the comp knows and puts you as not responding and gives you a minute i think to reconnect but if you don't it will log you out of the game.

When your opponent is taking a shot, the timer is merely an indicator. In reality, your opponent took their shot before the time ran out. However, that information has to travel from their computer, to the server, and back to your computer.

Slow internet connections can make this process take longer, which is why it sometimes looks like the time ran out before they took their shot.

infact on very slow connections, you may have played your shot and the opponents counter is down to 10 seconds while they have only just seen you last shot being played.
