I would like to begin by saying that I fully understand that members ( especially new members ) have the ability to abuse "the more experienced dedicated members.
Well OK...
I for one understand that and know out of vast experience in managing forums and owning forums that this is 100% unavoidable.
But the moderation and punishment has to justify the crime ! do you not agree ?
Anyways I will start to explain a "OTT" scenario on here.
I played the other night and came across a member called mod removed. so we began to play in the usual way.
He was not instigated in any way but for some reason became abusive to my family and my mother, who has just passed away.
In the circumstances i found this very disturbing and attempted to take action by contacting a mod....but apparently there was no mods on here at the time.
I posted in general chat through desperation and one of the comments actually said shut up !
Well I was appalled !, I love this site and know there is a possibility of some abuse but reported abuse needs to be looked into by site admin or mods and appropriate action taken.
Even if the action is against your request I think you should tell concerned members of the outcome.
But this site says no bad language and sensors swearwords and suchlike so I least expect the comments reported are moderated and looked at. I did click the report button and like I say post in general / members bar.

Okay mate it doesn't matter what they did/ said you can not name and shame the user im afriad if you could edit ou the name.

You also need to edit out the swearing in your post.

If you reported them by using send complaint it would of sent through and regarding you have told the absalute truth the user would of recieved a punishment.

There will always be fools that decide to be like that simply because its over the internet and are not looking at your face. Its always been like that and always will be.

Moderators and admin try there best but they have put policies and boundaries in and punishments to suit them. They try to be consistent although this is sometimes hard. I am with you in thinking that punishments should in some place be tougher and in some places slightly weaker. But there are other ways of dealing with it for example "contact us".

I apologies for the way I presented the post and wording to you in the post but I really wanted to get the facts across in a way the moderation team would understand.
Like I said I have experience in moderating and owning forums of various natures and I do understand what can happen.
If I was not as new as I am I would put myself up for moderator position to help this situation and assist this site that I love.

Like you've said - there's no real way of completely stopping behaviour like this, but with all due respect it doesn't mean you can break the rules yourself.

As long as you used the send complaint button you will be fine, If this continous you send complaint and the contact us button's for more proof.

Unfortunally Moderators and Administrators have life's outside of pool too, Don't forget its a voluntry Job and they do not get payed. They are here to help, Whith out them what would it be like?

As alex said its the internet nothing major can be done apart from a ban or a Boot.

Unfortunally you can not retaliate or you are as ad as eachother.

When you say ''tougher'' what rule could be tougher give a example.

I think the rules are fine as they are and I don't see any point in making rules tougher or weaker. I'm sure other people agree somewhere along the lines.


And it would be best not to Name and shame on the forum as that is against the policy and swaering too.

Is this a example of a ''tougher'' or ''weaker'' rule?

If you get a number of warning's you get your forum's rights revoked? Fair or Unfair?

I think it the rule is fair simply to stop people doing what they do.

Anyway I hope your complaint made a difference.. And the member is dealt with.

Hi Steve, I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and you have my utmost sympathies. It is downright disqusting the audacity others have and it is unfortunate this happened to you. I have confidence that the moderators/admin. team will do their best to assure that the particular member is dealt with accordingly once the complaint is sent. Take care.

Abuse most certainly is not on, and is not tolerated on funkypool.

By all means contact one of the team when we are online, but as you found out this is not always the case as we do all have lives to run outside of funkypool
By using the 'send complaint' feature, the instance can the be reviewed and then the correct action will be taken. All complaints are processed, and processed in a consistant manner.

I can understand that people get annoyed, but these forums are not a place to name and shame and swear, please remember that in the future.

... I will also add, in case you're not aware, that if you encounter an abusive user, you can click on their name, then click "ignore user", that way you will see nothing more from them.

The other advice given is correct, use the send complaint button and we will deal with them.

Also be aware that if a moderator is called to a room, often you will just be instructed to send complaint, since abusive users usually stop when a mod is present, and moderators cannot take action on something they have not seen.

I fully understand this 100%

But help needs to be at hand as it was in all the forums I had dealings with and ran.

In this situation I would suggest that the moderation is not available at all times and therefore would like to put myself up for moderator position so at least the problems can be resolved quickly and effectively in the event bad things happen.

There are 25 Staff members what could you do quicker than them?

Plus, You would not be able to cope with every complaint sent in. They work as a team

Seems I am now to this pool game forum I think applying for moderator position so quick will be rejected I will then follow the standard procedure of complaint procedure.
