What operating system are you using? ie windows xp etc

And does it happen with similar circumstances? ie playing a game, surfing the internet, downloading or playing music? or is it just a completely random thing?

In windows XP there is a automatic restart option if there is some sort of error. You can uncheck this by right clicking on My computer and select Properties. Go to the advanced tab at the top. Then go to the Startup and Recovery section and click on Settings. In the middle there is a System Failure option and a "Automatically restart" option, uncheck that box if it isn't already.

This may or not help. Well worth downloading Microsoft Anti Spyware as well which is available free from their website. Just search google for Download Microsoft Anti Spyware

yep, if you disable this automatic restart you may get (or near enough WILL get) this blue fatal error up, saying windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Did you follow what I said earlier?

You might have power issue's if its still happening.

Download this program to check your computer's operating tempertaure. The CPU temperature should not go over 45 C. It is best if it runs a lot cooler than that.

That CPU temperature is too high I think.

For the mean time you could (if you can on your computer) slide half of the outer shell off and place a small desk fan facing inside of the actual computer, this should cool the CPU temperature a bit. I'm not really sure what else you can do other than take it in to a technician.

Downloading this software will reduce your CPU temperature.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/CpuIdle-Pro.shtml

Its 30 dollars to buy, but I think you can get a free 30 day trial by downloading from the above link.
