I see what you mean, but the two arent comparible in that way.

To go back to my point about the lucky/unlucky factor.

Taking a random figure - even a top pool player will lose about 1 out of 10-15 games in each session due to simple bad luck (or good luck on their opponents part if its 9ball)

A comparitive snooker player will very probably not lose any of those games assuming a similar pot/miss rate.

The titles don't mean less or more, they just show different achievements.

Back on topic, i think all the lads from snooker has hit the nail on the head. I'm usually playing funkysnooker as youngjeezy (username) and the point system can be annoying on snooker, especially if your a top ranked player as ste said. 0.01 points from a player is hardly a fitting reward for winning, where as if it was the other way round ste would lose over 15 points easy. Not very fair to be honest, but thats the way it goes.

As for pool i think the point system is stingy. But as i said "that's the way it is".

Well I guess I wasn't the only one of the opinion that it was too easy to reach virtuoso on snooker, Nick says those exact words in thread that luckypot has provided the link to above. The ranking system has now been changed, so a small measure of vindication for me and my whining

Not really no, I've only played 55 games, winning only 30 of them, yet i've already reached 775. I am not a great player, or even a good player, but still am not very far of going pro. Looks like the ranking system has been changed now though. Glad to have fascinated you.

Snooker has been readjusted (reduced) today as it was too easy to achieve virtuoso.

Yeah but Nick, now we are getting hardly any points for the amount of time we play a game. 5 ranking points for a 10 minute game? Not worth it.
