Me and the wife have decided to get a new lappy as our old one we bought in 2005 is outdated, needs new memory, a new battery as well as a wireless router. We decided it'd be cheaper and nicer to get a new one.......

We need:

Wireless connection
Largish memory
Want it to run fast!!!

Any ideas!????? I know nothing about computers remember so keep it tech tardish - thanks!

Try there loads of good laptops!

There's even a guide on the side if you specifically want to choose how much memory, weight,OS,etc

Best of waiting for Spinner he usually has a good gist of it!

Bigpockets have a great range of refurbs in just now, giving you Wi-Fi, 1.8Ghz, 1Gb RAM and DVD-RW all for less than £200.

Edit - Forgot link! : http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/cat.php?search=Laptops&nav=227

I personally find it hard to argue a case for spending more than that unlesss you intend it to be your main computer.

If thats the case, any new laptop should exceed those specs, but the only warning i would give is the OS. If you have any older software you like to use, i highly reccomend sticking to XP.

However, if you don't, then i reccomend Vista. However if its a vista one you go for, make sure it has at least 2Gb RAM. Vista can run OK on 1Gb, but its really a minimum. Not where you want to be if you're buying something new.

the best

i have hp pavillion, really good. Hp is a good laptop brand

Acer is good but if you want a good one from them you have to pay a little bit more money for the better ones

Toshiba is really good aswell

Dell is another good brand, but if it breaks and u need parts, u only can get parts that are made from dell, dont kno why but you have too.

My choice hp or toshiba

My mother bought 2 hp laptops a year ago one for me one for my sister, within 2 months both had to be sent back with same problem, and now nt even 12 months down the line both are broken again we have sent back to the manufacturers and they have said they cant repair for some technical fault with the laptop so i strongly disagree that hp are good

So far so good, it runs great on the internet!

I'd certainly say buy one - but then again I don't know much about laptops so don't hold ne to it.
