players get points for golden breaks! fine!
however, i think its unfair for a 'victim ' of a golden break to loose points! why should a player loose points? i supose you could argue this point for runouts too!
can somthing be done?

Disagree, its not everygame some one gets a golden break as spinner once worked out (not sure where) i think its something like 1/4000 chance or something daft so it takes some skill in where to put the ball and where to aim...
As for run outs, i think you have gone completely crazy it is hard work to get a run out especially in the 8 ball games and you should respect the players that can do this.
If you dont want to lose points dont play ranked

ye, players who get the golden break and runout should get points of course!
but i dont think the looser should loose points, he didnt get a chance to play!

Its part of the risk you take when you click play game, if its good enough for the winner it should be same for loser

i support every word in both of mitch's posts. playing ranked games is like putting money in on a bet - someone must win and someone must lose and the loser has to pay.
even though that may seem unfair, what is stopping you from getting a golden break on the next rack?
you just got to practice your breaks!

I agree, runouts are very difficult in the US games, even harder on the UK game.
I'm afraid you'll always lose points if someone gets a runout or golden break against you, it's part of the game and you should just get on with it and try and earn the points back.
