i was playing today and noticing the differnt color cloths on the tables now( not that i havent noticed them before but just saw the blue on UK) but anyways i came up with an idea to make the game have more of a twist/ realistic as well( i know people hate when realism is brought up but anyways ill continue) i think it would be cool if the differnt table cloths had differnt speeds like blue was slow. green normal and red fast, and it would all be randomized which cloth is played during tournments and what not, now i know nick has been really hard at work and this is probably never going to happen just thought it would be a cool idea maybe much further down the line.

It's an interesting idea. Personally I would be against rotating the cloth colours during a tournament simply because, on my screen, the playability of the tables with shading effects is terrible compared to the original one. However having a slightly randomised table speed for each individual tournament so that you had to 'play yourself in' would be quite realistic, fun and original.
Anything which will bring a bit more variety to the site should be welcomed.
On that subject - and off topic entirely (sorry misterchyme) is there any possibility of bringing back the pro tables for a couple of tournaments per day/week. I know all the reasons why they were completely removed, so no need to post those please, but the game is crying out for something different from the same three tournaments rotating every three hours, every day.

totally agree with you christopher robin , i used to love playing the pro tables plus it might encourage those players that have strayed away from pool to come on and play more often

i love the idea of different speeds! as long as the 'slow table' doesnt make lag look even worse, then I would love to see that some in.
it would add a bit more 'zang' to the tournament. One question though; would table change every frame or every round?

i think every frame would be better

I think it would just change for the whole tournement. As in real life if you play for a pub team you usually go to a venue...and just use one table for the night. If it was changing every round adjusting would just become too frustrating.
So IMO I think if it changed per tourny then you would be able to adjust if you got as far as the finals....that being quarters, semis and then the final.

but then thats getting into more of a simulation style of game...lets keep it arcade; we can still have different types of cloth speeds in an arcade sort of thing.
as long this game just stays a quick, easy to play arcade game; I dont really mind what happens.

tbh i dont like it lol, i think it should stay the same its hard enuf gettin full power now, gunna be impossible on a slower speed table

i think the word 'slower' is scaring a few people!
if i had it my way (which is nearly impossible), the faster and slower table wouldnt be that much difference anyway (otherwise the game would be stupid!)
i think that if the 'slower' table had a better reaction to spin and the 'faster' table (and it wouldnt be that much faster either) could be less spin productive.
but if nick was to do a thing like this (which i kinda hope he will serrisly look into), then we gotta get the difference just right - not a big difference, but just enough to notice!

Yea as in real life you get really thick cloths that are slow as hell but spin really nicely...then you get fast clothes which i personally prefer and the spin isn't as strong but it's nicer to play on.
