That's the when and the who. The what is this. I was on the black. I potted the black and said gg and all that. Then that blue disconnection timer thing in the top right corner came on. For some strange reason my inernet connection had been lost, God knows what. But what sickened me was that the magic, all-knowing Funkypool server did not "see" my black shot and thought I left the game before it was over. Instead of gaining just over three points, I lost 3 instead. That's a swing of 6, and all because I took a shot that FP said I didn't.

Needless to say, the bottom fell out of my game after that and I had to pack it in for the night. Anyone else ever been... well there's no way to describe it while keeping it clean at the same time. But this happened to anyone before?

I want my 6.1 or 6.2 points back

Ive had the game window log me out but i have connection still, really narks me off i lost a final cause of it an many first round games too.
Not sure why never bothered to say anything as its just one of them things and cause ive never lost points *touches wood*

Sadly, the Internet is still in 2008 a somewhat unstable deal, and sometimes small, brief connection glitches can end up seeing you disconnected. Some of those are obviously less convenient than others, but nothing to do about it really.

I had that happen a couple of times mate, its proper annoying but you just gotta pick ya chin up and carry on, win em back tonight m8

I had a more predictable and sublime problem today in the speed tourney, http://www.funkypool.com/viewTournament.do?tournamentid=24998. Hard disk is acting up, as I mentioned in general chat 8 days ago I think. Anyway, after beating kgrant with a 2-9 in round 2 (lucky set up), playing possibly the greatest game of my life against amigo_here to win with a 5-9, and beating slimbo in the next round, my hard disk went clink-a-dink and died. Again.

If I didn't know any better I'd say I actually played the quarter-final against bullfrog, cos I knew I was in a quarter-final when it happened. Yet somehow it says I got a bye in that round. That makes absolutely no sense. He's not online, nor slimbo, to back things up in my mind. Anyhow... another unfortunate mishap, although this time the error was definitely with me. And it was inevitable it would happen during a tournament.

Oh! That's the wrong result at the top of the page. That was frame 1. It was on frame 2 when I got disconnected...

What probably happened in the quarter-final was, after hard disk went pear-shaped (as it did TODAY against amazing_arab in the UK 8 ball speed tourney - which suspiciously finished DQ-DQ), the other guy left, whereas I was "not responding". Time ran out, I was in the room, he wasn't... and he got DQ'ed. But I couldn't see any of this to witness it, so I dunno...
