Was a huge Grange Hill fan in my youth, and followed the characters through Tuckers Luck and on to Eastenders. Sure the names changed, but that didnt matter, for a whole generation their characters stayed the same.

No idea it was like recently, but in my day it stuck out mostly for not having the stereotype pretty athletic characters that seemed to populate every other teen drama. They were characters we could relate to.

Dunno how it will have aged if viewed now, but i remember Zammo's spiral into drug abuse as one of the best, well handled, and powerful TV storylines ever. Kids show or otherwise.

as a youngster when it started i was hooked until i left school, growing up with tukker, trishia yates, then zammo and RoLAND, after that i didnt watch it....apparently todd carty made an appearence on the last episode today, although i missed it
