I couldn't find anything in the rules saying why players rankings in Killer disappear (reset) after a while...

A little insight would be wonderful.

Have you played killer since the new ranking system?

the ranks were reset to get rid of points. at the top of game shouts there is a sticky thread with the final points standings.

The ranks were reset to bring it in line with the usual ranking system
