does any1 else agree there is no need to be a time imit on the final of tournements as i lost out on 1because of it :( lol ??

well there got to be a time limit otherwise people might just mess around for fun and take the mick, even though they possibly wont because its a tournament final but it could happen. The other suggestion is both of you could agree not to finish the game, which will not usuely happen but it could.

But i agree on the time limits for the speed tournaments, as you get 8minutes to finish 1 game, but sometimes in the speed tourny's you need to play 3 games due to a 1-1, and 16minutes is not long enough for that.

I agree. Time limits are clearly needed and I think the current limits for most games are judged very well indeed. The one that I see winner 'not found' quite often is the UK speed tournament, obviously because the final gets very tactical and can take a while. I know that some people may say that the limits are there, and clear and it's up to the finalists to complete the match in that time and that's a valid and good point. But surely the tactics can make the match more intriguing than any other final all day, which in my opinion means the time limit should be increased. Again this sounds so simple to change, but for all I know it could be the hardest thing to change on the site But I think changing the UK speed final to 20 or 25 minutes would be great and probably much appreciated by alot of players.
Also there may be a time limit for certain reasons, if that's the case can anyone explain that reason/reasons?

I mean reasons for the funkypool game rather than reasons that may be because of the people involved in the final, like messing around.

For speed tournaments time limit is 4 minutes * maximum games in the round. In addition, 4 minutes is added to allow you to enter the room, so earlier you enter the room the better.

I have a little idea that may get people to enter the room sooner. The first player to the room, in tournament matches, breaks first. Golden breaks and run outs play a massive part in the game and it might quicken things up for players who just practice till the last second. Also everyone who moans about losing to a run out or golden break in tournaments will only be able to blame themselves for not getting there quick enough. I know that if you're busy it is a annoying decision, but it's some kind of reward for the player that has been waiting ages to start.

Back to the topic. Do you not agree that extending the time limit on speed tournament finals, especially UK-8ball is a good idea? Two players who work very hard to make the final get punished because they play a certain tactic which can make for a great spectacle.

Why extend it, just get rid of it, why is there a need for a time limit when it's the only game? No-one's waiting, you can't just agree to not finish it daz, just going to both sit and wait for the first person to die?

I'm sure that you would be suprised by how many people would leave the 2.am tournament go till the 6.am tournament, but I suppose that that will not bother many people.
The time limit keeps things ticking over, in some cases people can enter the next tournament but usually it's the one after that and like I said everything just keeps ticking over and working like clock-work And little things like the server restarting after the current tournament finishes might become a liabilty with people waiting ages to find out the new update, or the admins waiting ages to do what they need to do. Like I said, the time limit keeps things ticking and probably just makes things easier, otherwise it wouldnt be included.

i know if theres no time limit peope (or just me) would not take a shot and win the tourny by a bye as the player has got fed up of waiting over night.

so to be honest having the limit helps alot

i agree with the time limits for all the other rounds but i dont think there is one needed in the final as it is jus one game between 2 players and it does not affect anyone else
