this is not a complaint, just a theory,i,ve noticed most players opt for a double especially on the black rather than go for the bottom pockets.it seeme if you miss one middle pocket it will go in the other.also most flukes end up in the middle pockets, its harder to get them on the uk table because there is no jaws.any views on tightening the middle pockets.

Well, the middle pockets have wider angle (180 degrees) and the corners only have 90 degrees, therefore making it more likely to pot.
Not a lot you can do about flukes, we all have them.
The middle pockets seem perfect to me, no need to change them.

As already pointed out, the middle pockets are different than the corners, and that is perfectly in line with real tables too.
Middle pockets ARE much more lenient (sp) than corners as long as the angle is not too large.
Which in turn is also why indirect shots via the opposite rail is relatively easy for those pockets, since the angle the ball approaches the pocket with is quite small for such shots.
Surely, a lot of players just slam away and hoping it will drop in one of the two middle pockets, but a lot of players also favor controlled double shots into those pockets. They are not at all flukes.
In fact, if having a ball close to one middle pocket but at some angle, making that pocket quite narrow, it is generally a much easier option to double it down the opposite pocket, where the angle will be much more favourable.
This is perfectly in line with real pool as well, nothing wrong or peculiar about it here on funky.

I was just wondering why i have been having so much success in 8 ball us recently and i have noticed it is becoz of my increase of potting off the cushion into the middle pockets. it is a simple but effective technique.
