i dont want to start a new thread for this so i'll ask here.
How would the leagues work?
Like i'm currently ranked at about 750 on 8 ball uk. So i would assume that i would be playing players with a simalar rank.
so would there be like a premier league , divison 1 , divison 2 etc?
cheers.

I second that. I dont think we need gimmicky little games to hold space. Yes, it is FUNKYpool, but I think these ideas of 7 and 10 ball are a little to funky.
lets get to things that people will get a better kick out of.

If were adding a game then why dont we at least create our own game, like trickshots, orwe can think of one, that way we will be the funkiest bar in town!
All this after leagues and doubles
All this after leagues and doubles

If a Funkypool league were to work in the same way as a Funkypool tournament, it would involve playing a succession of games against a succession of opponents. In theory, nothing wrong with that. In practice, you'd have BOING! UK 8 Ball League is available to join! or whatever it says, and 10 minutes later 50 or 60 people will have joined, meaning 49 or 59 matches will have to be taken part in by each player.
Matches. First to 1? First to 2? 1 more than likely; results based more on ability and less on luck woud even out over the amount of a player's matches in the whole league. Still, a lot of games/matches though. Considering it's 8 mins for a game in a speed tourney, 12 mins would be sufficient to discharge a regular league game, with a normal DQ-DQ being replaced with a loss for both players at least, and DQ from the league itself at most. (And indeed so may be the cae for no-shows.) But in a league of 50 players with 12 mins per round, 49 x 12 = 588, and that many minutes is 9 hours and 48 minutes. That would take an awful lot of concentration, attention and perserverance. (This presumes that no round of matches in the league would begin until the previous one ends.)
Smaller leagues then? 10 players max? 9 x 12 = 108 = 1 hr 48 mins. And with each round involving 5 matches, chances are most rounds would be over before 12 mins.

or how about if you had it like the football world cup style sort of thing.
32 players. 8 groups of 4 players. 3 group rounds (so everyone plays each other once in their own group). then the top two from the group progress to the finals.
then you have a round of 16, round of 8 and so on in knockout format.
so after a while, it kind of turns into a tournament, but the 'group stage' would keep it really entertaining!
and if we find that we can expand to a 64 person comp, then we can have 16 groups, and a round of 32 would need to be added (dont forget, you can only have 2,4,8,16,32,64 and 128 person comps for things to work!)
the winner would have played 7 opponents in a presuambly best of 3 game....so a maximum of 21 games for the winner.
i think that would be the best way to do things
