I think we should have a lock on killer games or auto rack
So they're 10 point is in the game, if you leave you lose 10 points and the other players can play for the extra points!

I really hate waiting all day for a 10 player game!
People just leave when there is like 8 players!

Possibly give a warning before entering.

your thoughts?

Yeah good idea, the only bad thing about that is sometimes you can be waiting for a tournement while you are waiting for 10 players to join and the invite can come. Also some people choose not to play when certain people are in the game room.

All the more reason to auto start imo.

Not to be pretentious, but I have plenty players that actively avoid me in killer (join then leave because of me).

Not only is that cheap, but it makes *me* feel bad since it makes me the reason preventing the game from starting - at the expense of the other players in the room.

If people are so keen on avoiding certain opponents, at least force them to do so by monitoring said opponents on the web site instead of in-game.

Auto start the second the final necessary player joins the room would definitely be a good thing, also would prevent the quite boring problem of sleepers not hitting rack for whatever reasons.

The idea of paying points at the time of joining a game doesn't work tho - since you could risk the game not starting at all (or taking way too long to fill). Still, as long as you don't get a choice to leave (without spending 10 points) after the game has filled, you'd pretty much prevent people from taking off just because someone they want to avoid joins the game.

I think when nick implements a certain time for users to be in a room without playing it should do the trick.

Whilst there were valid reasons for introducing the rack button initially, those have been addresed now with the rank ranges and rank display features.

Games used to auto-start when the second player joined, i think this would actually be very beneficial to re-introduce now, especially in the case of Killer.

In ranked, non-killer games you can't auto-start until the possibility to play on a falsely low rank is removed.

For killer, where opponent rank can't hurt you, it's a different matter.

Technically not true, but it sure makes winning taste a whole lot better when you know you stand up to a real challenge and not just collect points from newbies.

Completely different in the other games where rank is weighted.

But... the most important aspect of this is to make the game flow, make games start in a sensible way and prevent people who are away from the computer, surfing with the game in the background, or simply are retarded enough to do it on purpose, from holding up the game.
