I was playing a game and saw that the section that usually displays ads or forum info was black like the rest of the screen. I clicked it to see if there was anything there and it kept opening window after window. It got to about 14 windows

Even after I managed to close the funkypool tabs it opened about 14 more and wouldn't stop so I had to turn off my machine. The URL said something about adserver but the screen said page not found.

Can this be sorted so it doesn't happen to anyone else?

I've tried this but only get a 404 missing page error.

I'd suggest a malware scan in case your comp has picked up something thats trying to redirect missing pages to one of those infernal "search" sites.

(mywebsearch is most common)
