sounds like a fab idea, been mentioned many times before...

On msn it pops up at first just like a pm if you aint chatting to them.

Though would like to see the little noise changed to something like that flashing because I have music on and hardly hear it.

You can also ignore pm while competing

on msn it just comes up at the side in a little box, nothig disturbing. be a good addition i think...

That all depends on the version and config of MSN, but that's a bit beside the topic really.

The option of having PMs by default pop up minimized would been great. As long as you still get the option of having sound alerts as well as the standard windows blinking to indicate updated window, it would grab enough attention to not miss it while still not being so intrusive when you're in the middle of taking a shot.

Great idea, hands down.

We've had this suggested before, if i remember correctly its not possible using java.

I might be wrong though

how about a link to the PM window that shows in the main chat area if you're in a match?

something similar to the tournament alerts but more of a "{username} has sent you a message. Click Here to read it." kinda of thing....

It should work using java becuase i have a chatroom on our forum it just flashes orange at the bottom.
I mean it is so annoying when you are trying to concentrate and you dont want to ignore someone while you are playing, and you want to speak to them while you are playing

i think it should be like yahoo in da typeing a message comes up e.g

...... wants to private chat with u

and u can accept it or not

Not a bad idea that, if it happened similarly to the tournament invite thing, so it doesn't just pop up in your face like the chat window would..

However, it kinda contradicts what started this idea on the other thread.. people would probably complain that this popping up would distract them.. then again who knows

if your in a game you're not going to want to be disturbed so why dont you just block pm's during a game?? its what i do..

That's precisely what that option is intended for, however it is a bit more dramatic than a lot of people would prefer.

What this thread suggests is a compromise - not having it pop up and disturb you, yet letting you know you have someone trying to get hold of you (so you have the option of looking at it when it's no longer your shot)

Noooooooooooooooooo! Then i wont be able to put my Stell off when hes on the black :O! Ha!
