I thought i'd kep the title general, but what really inspired this post are the clips of Boston Dynamics "Big Dog" pack carrying robot.

Impressive, but undeniably freaky to boot!

It can't be a human look at the joints in the legs. Its like a human walking backwards but if you look again you'll see it bends it's legs where our thighs would be.

I agree chump, if a real dog walked like that i'd probably run away, horrid noise, reminds me of the time i had my head stuck in a bee hive.

Did you watch right through to the bit on ice? (1:25 in)

It reacts better than any human (or probably animal) would! No shock or fright, just instantly uses is "elbows" to help it back to its feet immediately.

Brilliant!

Absolutely amazing technology to regain it,s balance after the guy kicked it was just strange.
As for when it hit the ice that was just incredible.Just shows you how far we have come in the way of technology
