I'm new to funkypool. Love the game but there is one really annoying bug which I guess would be easy to fix.

You set up a game room and you're practicing away until a player comes in. All good so far.

Player enters room, and the system then racks the balls. Then the player doesn't like your rating so leaves again.

It would be better not to rack the balls until the player who entered the room pressed the 'rack balls' icon. This would aviod unnecessary restarts of practice every time someone came in and then straight back out again.

Anyone disagree with the logic?

I quite like that idea...like when you're on a run out in practice then someone comes along and ruins it by joining your game, then leaves 5 second later

yeah has been lots of ideas to sort this out spinners was good.

it was a quick game to click and you get randomly placed against somebody regardless of rank or whatever.

It's not the same thread - that's about players leavin when your on a run. This is about them leaving before they start a game.

They come in, have a look at your rating, then leave, thus interupting your practice unnecessarily.

This has been mentioned more often on snooker (since breaks mean more there) and i'm sure Nick will have noted it

An even better solution to that would be to display game owner rank in the game selection window (which may be the single most asked for change on this site ever)

Doesn't entirely solve what you are talking about here tho, but would remove 95% of your problem.

In MY experience tho, the problem is more of the time that I join rooms only to find that the game owner don't want to play me so I *have* to leave. Obviously the practice board is just as ruined for the player tho, so delaying a rerack until both players actually accept to start the game would be good in either case.

But then you could be a 620 and you could be waiting for ever just to get a game.

Well, if people in general don't want to play lowbies, that's an issue for low rank people regardless of whether rank is displayed in the game selection window or not. The alternative is what we currently have - people joining and leaving rooms all the time.

If people don't want to play me because of my rank, I'd much prefer they were able to see that rank before joining my game room rather than after.

That would be a good idea tho.

That would be a fair expectation IF owner rank was visible in the game selection window - but not until that is the case.

It would be sensible if every player creating a game included their rank in the title then players looking to compete with equally skilled or better players could choose them from the list of titles and not have to enter then leave games all the time!

people do that sometimes
'760 plus' for an example but still you get lower ranked people coming in saying play me, just one game, are you scared? and then they dont stop bugging you for ages.

i think, though it has been mentioned before, the option for game room owners to block people lower than the rank they wish to play from entering the room as a player. This would save time and also people who think less of newbies that are annoying wouldnt.
