We did have a little chat about it in chat just now and just to expand on it because I don't think many people will understand with your post
The advert for pool sharks 3D download pool site has been advertised a lot recently and the question has been raised in chat that why is funkypool advertising rival sites.
It's something that Google do for extra revenue for Nick. Nick has little control on what is shown and I think he can mention it to Google who then take it down or something. It's happened before and we declared that if you mention it to the staff, they will pass it on to him. From my mods days, I would have thought it's been brought to his attention already from the mods. Ironic that while I type this, the advert has gone

it's common and logical to advertise based on the relevant topic, or more precisely what the users of this site is likely to be interested in

In short :

Seriously, by all means have a look at poolsharks. It is an excellent example of a stereotypical 3D online pool game, which highlights all the reasons why Nick has been right to stick to the simple but playable option.

A little healthy competition never hurt anyone... Not that there is any!

They can advertise other pool sites all they want, i'm not budging.
I've been on here too long and grew too much onto it for me to go and play elsewhere.
If it means extra revenue for the site and its owner, by all means advertise away!

I know i'm not being very friendly with the competition, but i just had a browse through their specifications:
* "Processor 300 MHz or higher" (Cool! I can run it on my 486!)
* "3D Graphics card" (fair enough. S3 card at the ready!)
* "Pool Sharks requires the DirectX 9 to run" (ah. so just any old 3D card won't do?)
* "Windows Vista/XP/2000/ME" - (at 300Mhz?)
Ok, will behave now - but how serious can a game be that offers 3 red snooker

lol!
I love the way you say you'll behave, and then do the exact opposite.
We all know this is, and will remain to be two (including snooker) of the best sites of their genre on the web, and I place that down to community and useability.
Feel free to go there, smile and wave, and be happy that you use the better of the two. (if anything it helps... Compare to your hearts content! )
:O was that a rant?!

Almost a rant...
A rant would be more aimed at the inability to write a user friendly game which can be played in a browser, not to mention forgetting to include a login option easily visable on the homepage, instead deciding to splash all the various payment options all over the place and render it almost impossible to realise your game can be enjoyed for free, not to mention the lack of any obvious offline game chat options or even a simple forum where players can discuss any aspects of the game and offer you options for improvement which will inherently be popular due to the community aspect of the...er...
No. That wasnt a rant you wrote Josh..

Whoosh!
For the record people, I have just been massivley out-ranted.
infact, I might even sound quite friendly in my previous post.
I'll leave it to the ones who know how lol.
Also, I find the lag on there quite unbearable, but as is said, you are seeing the advertisement on the site you already use, it's all down to user preferences!

What's aggravating to me is the ads that talk. I'm just trying to listen to my music, and the ad starts talking over Vampire Weekend. Uncool.

Has anyone got a funkypool tattoo?? there must be with 10 million games and thousands addicted!!!
Or is that an idea = £20 for crazzy
I see above posts on lag and people being DQ etc.... we all have it, maybe the person last in game is the one that is DQ for the same reason both dont finish game in quickie, can the game clock log the first in room and if u are late then u have to win with the available time left or u get DQ,
