its a free browser game called http://www.ikariam.org very cool and not very time consuming so you can carry on playing pool here as well

Pretty cool game. Graphics are pretty good. I disagree with "not very time consuming" though - Takes a lot of time to get anywhere or do anything!

Nice game, but I don't have the time to wait 35 minutes to upgrade my town.

Good that it works in the browser.
Just getting hang of things, i am a huuuuuge AOE fan. Rise of rome beats them all.

The latest ones that are 3D are crap though.




Sorry i need to add, the time taken to build one building is a joke, it's not much of a game if you are waiting 15 minutes to build an academy.

Game ruined by the attempt to stretch out the longevity.

Just a general question spurred on by this thread - how do online versions of AOE and the like handle altering timescales?

It strikes me that you wont be able to choose a "speed" if its multiplayer?

(used to love these games way back in the die and pencil days )

When i played AOE on gamespy, you could set a room with settings such as game speed.

You can play by using IP, me and my mate used to do this, he would give me his IP and i would type it into the search game option and it came up.

Spinner if you still have it, i'd like to play ya!

Would require some digging, but i'll look it out sometime

it does tend to be a game u check once a day, but when you end up with more towns there is more people to go steal off ;)
