Would be nice to have automatic seedings in tourney games so you could see who is best ranker and favourite to win it. I would like to see this implemented

if you want seeds, go download a torrent or feed some birds, this sites about pool if you're good enough, you'll win. you should'nt need the system to predict =/ that's just silly. Plus, why are you still playing this game when GTA's out?

A simple way to do that would be an option to sort the list by number of previous tourny wins, in addition to the existing alphabetical sort order.

A third sorting order could be by rank, but this is 95% of the time completely useless since a lot of the best tourny players don't play ranked games.




As I read it, he just wants a way to SEE the seeding order. It has no relevance or impact for anyone's chance of winning the tourny.

Yeah good idea. Seeding via ranking points would probally work the best though.

Yeah sounds a good idea, sometimes i slack a bit if im playing a lower ranked player. So it would be good to see what seed/rank they really are

For example if it was a UK tournament, the top 20 uk players could be seeded? Then it will be displayed possibly like this:

8 Ball UK Marathon Tournament: 1ukeldinho vs _steven_(1)

been mentioned many times on snooker, thing is u cud jus look at their profile and see their rank/ win percentage, thats what i do....

I'd say previous tourney wins would be best method to rank players. With rank being secondary, but only for seeing which are favourites etc etc, not for doing a draw or anything.

Which is why it needs to be based on tourny wins. Or even better, tourny win RATE. Unsure if the total number of tournies entered is data that is stored at all tho - which would clearly be a requirement for this to work.

Any seeding based on rank is next to useless imo

I'm sure this specific idea has been mentioned before but I can't remember why it wouldn't happen. Something to do with newbies I think...

Anyway - To expand on this idea which might not be supported but I'll mention it;

How about the top seeds don't meet each other till a specific stage in the tourny. It would have to be the top 10 that don't meet till round 3 or something. May be hard to implement but I'd like to see this happen...

it could be done like in tennis, where the top two seeds are placed on opposite halves of the tree and so on.

I'd like it, but since it serves a minority of players as well as makes bad players get knocked out earlier by average, most players wouldn't want this.

i like the idea but i agree with janmb....
....it wont work based on rank as it will be inaccurate....i think it should be win percentage in tournies...........i would also like to see a seperate tournament ranking table seen as you play random users, and maybe gain an increasin amount of points for say passing the 3rd round, and lose points for being knocked out early!

What a great idea, I accept the comment about if youre good enough to win it you will however, it just makes things a little bit more interesting.
Another idea with regards to tourneys is how about gaining some points for winning a tourney or maybe a sliding scale for reaching the quarter finals? 10 points for win 8 for runner up then 6 4 and 2 for other places? What do you all think?
