I was going to have a go at filling in an application to become a moderator but, when I click apply to bring up the form it says you have to be a non-newbie in at least one event.

Yes but he can be able to apply as he is a non-newbie on 2 events there should be no problem appling with one newbie description.

I applied a month ago, no problems.

Sounds like a simple bug.

(and the status is virtually identical to mine when I applied, so must be tied to the game type I guess - since I was pro vs. newbie in opposite game types)

This is a relatively common problem if you're using firefox to apply. Clearing browser histories including cookies can help, as will using Internet Explorer or Opera

I just put this to the test (I'm not old enough to join so just ignore my application whoever looks) lol and I think it is a problem with Firefox.. Because it worked with IE
