i was playing a game of 8 ball against robinho1987.
he hit the ball against the rail then he got a foul against him.
this might have been a 1 off thing but the ball was definatly touching the rail.
he lost the game because of it i dont think it was fair.
could admin take a look at this please.
thank you
rob

At certain resolutions it can appear a ball has touched the rail when, as far as the calculations "behind the scenes" are concerned, it's not quite there.

or create a foul on yourself, just to balance the books, if you both agree it was unfair, surely most decent people will act in a sporting manner....not that im saying you didnt, as your thread appears a concerened nature at that time

Its important to remember that in this case, there was a foul commited, regardless of how it looked.
Anything within the rules is sporting play, some people try to say snookers aren't sporting, or tap breaks etc, but thats just their own insecurities surfacing

why do what everyone else does or doesnt do.....try and show good morals and play in a sporting way regardless, i find it only improves peoples perception and if you win or lose, you know you have done the 'right thing'

Lag is part of the game. It works both ways. If you don't take advantage of it then to be blunt your a bit foolish.

All depends how you look at it - and most of all who you are playing.
I don't know about you, but for my own part, I play this game first and foremost to have fun. That does not always means you have to win.
When playing a really good opponent that shows good sportmanship him/herself, where both players enjoy the game most of all from the level it is at rather than who is winning - giving back an obvious lag accident often tends to give me far more than it costs.
I play this game to have fun and enjoy myself - and when playing people I like and I know are good players, that doesn't necessarily mean I have to win to have fun - as long as I lose because the opponent played (even) better than I did (as opposed to when you lose because you played even worse - in which case it isn't fun at all ;)
