Just had a double post, and i see a fair few of them around the forums. I think it would be a good idea if you could simply delete your post if you want to, would tidy the forums up a wee bit and would make things simpler than having to edit your post and apologizing for a double post

Dont see anything wrong with that...

Would also save trouble with people posting on the wrong forum...

Also, mods could use the delete button on offensive posts...

Been thinking of this for a while, saves you looking like a n idiot when you post something silly Lol..

There should be a limit to delete your post by though i think, similar to the edit post limit.

It wud make a diff! Course it would Ruds..

We only have a limited amount of posts remember, so being able to delete double posts would be great and meant we didnt use our 100 posts so quickly.

We also have a limited 'Posts per thread' now too, so would also be good for that.

Maybe we shud all just be extra careful tho, and NOT double post OR type anything that we may need to later edit, saves Nick a job of setting it up.

Overall not a bad idea at all.

You carn't really help double posts though Paula, As it comes up 'Please submit once' or something like that, You click ok and theres the double post, The only way you could prevent that is to click 'back' and re-type your post... I would like to see this on pool and snooker, Would keep the forums alot tidier

Don't double click the Post button. Buttons, like links, are designed to be clicked once. Watching people double-clicking links and buttons gets my goat. If you are one of those people who are guilty of double-clicking buttons and links, please repent and amend your ways at once.

I'm gonna try double-clicking it now and seeing what happens.

It's not nessaceraly down to people double clicking the 'post' button, As i only click it the once, and on occassions i have myself suffered from a double post, I may be wrong but i'm sure it's a technical fault with the server, I'm sure it was discussed over on snooker.

I see where you are coming from though cloone as it get's on my nerves seeing people double click when it only needs to be clicked once... that's just down to people who are impatient, aslong as You and I don't do it, it's not a problem i guess.

If possible would we be able to get feed back from Nick to let us know whether it is a technical error or whether we are double-clicking?, I'm sure it's not as i don't double click but i do many things without realising

Ive done double posts too Shaun.
I did clik back one day to check if it had posted AFTER the 'please only submit once' msg and it had posted, i didnt need to re-type either.

Im all for anything that will improve forums.

Why not just edit the post and be a bit more careful in what your saying?
