A good and quick way to evaluate each opponent is to have each users current and highest overall rank in their profile. i'm just breaking into the top 50.....(currently 45th overall) pro in all 3 pool types and what better way to boast then have it by your other achievements in your profile! especially if you reach such heights as smithbit who is regularly virtuoso in all 3.

and when i say rank......i dont just mean for example (821.78) but mainly what number position that would make me. This would also be valuble for lesser ranked users who will not be expecting to see there names in the top 50, but instead they will be able to watch there rank go from perhaps top 10,000 to top 1,000

What do you all think?

Good idea but it doesn't really end up time worthy as it is only of use in creating leagues. It would be nice to know though but I'm sure you all have a rough idea.

Not too useful, since rank itself is a pretty weak way to judge the level of a given opponent... A lot of the best players don't play ranked games at all, and at least may not have done so for ages, sitting at 800 flat after daily deductions.

Besides, overall ranking says nothing about how good a player is in a particular game type. Take myself as an example... I am pretty steady among the top 50 in US 8 ball and totally useless in the other genres - overall rank not reflecting anything correct in either game

Assuming that the number of games played, as well as the win-rate derived from that, includes tournament games, that win-rate is a much better indication of how good a player really is and what you should expect from him/her.

Then again, I happen to think tourny games should been ranked in the first place, but that's just my opinion.

Why don't you just remember what your top ranking was?
Mines 44th at 8 Ball with a score of 844.1, but in future i may need 850 or something to make to 44th in the rankings, so it would therefore be difficult continuously calculate your highest ranking; this makes your highest ranking at the time of achieving it largely irrelevant in my opinion
