I've now completed the search on AVG - nothing found.
Do we reckon this file is the problem?
I don't know what other way i can find this file

Try C:/windows/system32/ and search every file there by right clicking and opening with notepad usually the encrypted code is hidden in that file. hope it helps

Oh also if you really need to go to c: right click on it and click format and follow the on screen instructions or go to a computer shop and have it flattened and reprogrammed. i'm lucky cas i can fix them myself so it saves about £20-£30.

i wouldnt advise you to mess around with any file in your system32 folder. however you can try this if you are using windows xp.
By default XP is set to restart at a serious system failure, sometimes causing the system to be caught in an infinite and annoying loop.
Change the default setting now before you need to by;
Clicking Start>Control Panel>System.
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery.
Remove the tick from the box next to Automatically Restart under System Failure.
Click OK.
good luck

^^^ Thats what typing "shutdown -a" does
Ok, the scan screenshot you posted shows that its there, but that its a hidden file.
You have to go to folder options, and select "show hidden files and folders"
Doing this should let you see the file in question.
Since it looks like a toolbar (from the filename) then AVG ill ignore it as i has been "installed".
If you use firefox, problems like this are common.

Problem is, I've done what you've told me to do with showing hidden folders etc. yet it still isn't showing, that's why I'm still on here asking for help lol.
The file only shows up on windows task manager on startup, and disappears after if i don't get the chance to end process, but it shows up on the security task manager..
I'm so confused Just a minute ago i logged onto my settings and left for a few minutes, and when i got back it was a black screen with some text on it (can't remember exactly what it said) and it was bleeping at me Really don't understand whats going on.
