Hey everyone.

I have had this for a while, everytime someone uses the home phone, the internet gets cut off.

I do have broadband, and a friend suggested a filter for it to work, i tried plugging the phone and internet into the filter, and it doesn't connect at all.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try plugging the modem directly into the phone socket, and use a filter for everything else in the house that plugs into a phone socket (phones, fax machines etc).

Is the filter a new one? Those things break pretty easily so it might be worth trying a different one.

Spinner might be a bit more helpful. I'm more of an intermediate than an expert.

^^ What he said!

The most common cause of his is indeed people forgetting to fit a filter to EVERY phone socket in the house.

The one for Sky is the one most often missed.

If you've got that covered, the try swapping the filters round to see if you have a faulty one. Dont worry if you do, they're not expensive, and many ISP's will be happy to send you one for free if you say you "cant afford any more expense so you're just going to cancel"

At first, i thought it may have been my DSL wire going into filter, i'll explain it better below:

Router----DSL cable-----filter-----phone line extension----landline.

We have a double plug thingy which the phone and internet are plugged in, so all i have to do is stick a filter on the phone line then????

Yep, you will need a filter for every phone socket (in use) in your home

Ok just to double check:

Router----DSL cable-----filter-----phone line extension----landline.

and the telephone is straight connected to the phone line, so i just have to put a filter on the phone line as well???
