I can't get into the game screen. All I get is a red 'x' in the top-left corner.

Anybody know what I can do?

We had similar problems a while back following a java update, this cured them :

Remove java via the control panel/add remove programs (there may be more than one entry, do them all).

Clear the browser history including downloaded program files.

Reboot the computer.

Go to http://www.java.com and download a fresh install.

I couldn't get to the control panel since it was a shared computer to which I do not have administrator privileges.

I tried deleting the history, rebooting and installing java. Still nothing.

In the end, I downloaded FireFox and that worked. Must have been a problem after we upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.
