Ok, I have just had a disscussion with a person on FP regarding complaints of other users and how they are handled. We both agreed that it was good, but we had a bit of a disscussion on that a person who sends a complaint should find out if any action has been taken or not.
--
SO basicly. If I sent in a complaint on 'qaz' (just a name) the whole process would start. When admin reviews the chat and makes a diccision, if qaz is warned or banned, I would then know that action had been taken via an automated e-mail.

I got this idea after an inncident involving me ended up bad and I never found out what had happened and I was dissapointed with funkypool because they don't let us know what happened to the people we send in complaints about.
I like the idea because it let's us know that something we notified funkypool about has actully been done insted of just not knowing what happened to the guy that abused us!

Details of actions taken are not discussed for privacy reasons.
In other words, we cannot have a situation where members are discussing warnings or restrictions other players have recieved.
The very simple answer is that action is taken in EVERY case.

We could certainly look at providing a message along those lines to let you know a complaint had been dealt with.
When people have acted badly enough to have public action taken, then it is only natural this will be a topic of conversation.
However the details behind someone being banned, for example, are not always known, and don'tneed to be.
These things being made public only cause/fuel gossip, which is never healthy.

ok...not details....just telling the other person that they have been banned.
just 'thankyou (and so on), this user has now been banned.'
or even saying 'this person has been delt with accrodingly' I would be happy with that!!
anyway, im tired and off to bed

I have never had to use it, so I dont know and dont need to know what happens as a result....
Still, think a person has a right to know what has happened...

I think that all members on Funkypool have a right to confidentiality regarding their own account details.
If the offence wasn't serious enough for an outright ban, then that person's privacy should be respected as long as they are a member. Warnings etc should be between the site and the member. You can rest assured though, that ALL complaints are looked into and actioned.
If it was serious enough for a ban - then you can see the outcome for yourself already.

Use the contact us feature. i get a support thread where i can add to my complaint/query and then i get a response off admin when the matter ies resolved.
If you use the send chat log feature as martin says you can see for yourself whether the user has been banned.
No need for an email to tell you what happens IMO

ok...if a person is offended, peeved off enough or even hurt by another user, you could then request to be notified that something has been taken.
With topic of convosation, Yahoo Answers does this same sort of thing, the abuser is never shot down by the community, they just get on with it. Im sure that FUnkypoolers are the same and here is a simple thing to do...if you don't want to be the topic of convosation because of something you did wrong...don't do anything wrong!
Naming and Shaming would keep them quiet

aflumpire, this conversation is going nowhere.
I believe it has been answered twice now by spinner and martin_blank.

Like spinner said - the party filing a complain isn't (and shouldn't for good reasons) be eligible to receive information on how the complaint is handled.
In short - whether or not a complaint you file on someone leads to a reaction is quite simply none of your business (sorry for the tone, but that's the simple bottom line of it all) and providing such information would both be a breach of privacy as well as cause nothing but trouble.
