Its not related to the adverts in any way (i dont think).
Im not getting lag on my actual shots.

But for some reason since last week my computer has started running real slow again.
When i type anything it takes ages to appear in the chat box and is no longer relevant to what everyone is talking about.
After clicking the rack button it takes over a minute for the table to appear ready to play.
I see 5 of my opponents shots in a row hen nothing for a couple of minutes and then another couple of shots.
Its not just funkypool- its my whole internet that has started running slow but i have no idea why...
Its gettin kinda irritating for me and other people. The only people i can play are friends because everyone else thinks im just an idiot who comes and sits in their room and doesnt play.
It occasionaly comes up with mmt is not responding but rarely.
Any help would be great as im getting to the point where im gonna dash my computer through the window

Could try going to your control panel, then to network connections, then to local area connection or something of the same, whatever provides your net, click that and check your speed?

It could be a number of thngs, I'm sure soon as spinner see's this he'll be able to better help!

Sounds a lot like latency in your internet connection... which is not very likely to be a local problem with your computer at all

Simplest action to take on this is prolly to give your ISP a call and have them check your line and connection speed for you

Good choice on the antivirus dude

But on to the task in hand.. It sounds like you have a spyware problem. What makes me say that is when you say it sometimes says "mmt is not responding"

mmt.exe is quite a common spyware prog. You could have picked it up from anywhere, so dont worry about that for now.

press CTRL+Shif+Esc to bring up the task manager, look for mmt.exe and end the task.

Then go to start>search and look for the same file, find it, and delete it.

I would also reccomend a general clean up of the computer, and the mandatory windows update (to run this months malware removal tool).

If you don't already have it, ccleaner (from www.ccleaner.com ) is a great little prog which lets you clear your temporary internet files without clearing the visited sites history.

Hope that helps!

i meant mmt as in the context of mad mike tyson and in game rather than on my computer lol

I run all the windows update as they become available after our last session fixing my computer lol

Ill run a malware scan and i downloaded cccleaner before but never had to use it.
Ill try them and get back to you probably tommorow

Don't use them when you know for sure you have a reason to - use them now and then so the need does not arise ;)

And you might also wanna run a few different versions of ad-ware cleaners, they all tend to have gaps but seem to complement eachother fairly well...

(adaware is a decent alternative, as are plenty others if you google a bit)

It may still be your connection tho and not a local problem what so ever..

Although this wont really tell you all that much, you might wanna consider running a ping test...

Start -> run -> "cmd"

and type this command:
tracert www.funkypool.com

This displays a list of hops needed for the packets to travel from your computer, including the time it takes to reach each destination

Next, try running pinging each of these hops, starting from your own comp and working your way out:

ping <insert address of first hop here>
ping <insert address of next hop here>

At the very least, this will give you an idea of whether the packets use a lot of time to travel from your own computer and to the first hop (in your case the wireless access point), or if the latency occurs further out in the network or your ISP or even beyond that.

Not a conclusive test by any means, but at least may narrow it down a little bit more.

Typically you should see ping times in the 5-50 range, if trying to reach addresses that are physically on your own continent, but what you are really looking for is the trend. Do the packets take very much longer to reach one hop compared to the prior one? Or are all the hops more or less equal?

A local problem on your comp should show slow (high) ping times or even timeouts right from the very first hop, while an ISP problem would typically display a particular hop being a lot slower than the ones closer to your own comp.

Phew, that was a lot of typing, but hope it helps
