Well as the title says, its been 30 years since hes been gone, he was surely a great singer, i know this threads more aimed at the older people on pool, however i thought it would of been nice to make this for him, for members to pay respect and share feelings emotions etc

hmm, already ashamed of you all.. im 17 and posted something that happend 30 years ago because i have respect etc, all people had to do was say r.i.p or something show abit of heart for such a nice man (i was not a fan etc of elvis just showed abit of respect for what he did for people)

id have to disagree, he was trying to help a young boy with polio, he did alot for his family and friends.. so on, as i said above im not a fan etc, so i know very little about him ... and i agree the beatles are amazing

love him or loathe him he played to audiences of stadium capacity in his day, thats why he never played in the UK because the biggest place was the paladium and couldnt house his road crew.

Theres a great urban myth about it to be sure, but all you have to do is even simply watch a few shows or even films to make you wonder where it came from.

He was simply the complete opposite. He brought equality and acceptance to what was up until then considered "black music", thus helping to pave the way for interracial concerts etc, which had been unheard of at the time.

Remembr this is a time where the two headlines of a newspaper brand the late Bernard Manning as a racist, yet applaud Salman Rushdie as a knight of the realm.
