Microsoft Disk Operating System...or...my silly dog owns socks...can never remember which one

Read only memory methinks

The answer to 2 is just "format c:"

There was a joke years ago which evolved into an "it really happened" urban myth.

Bill Gates was revealing the first (and only) prototype of MSDOS featuring voice recognition. He booted up the comp, and a nice big display of the command line was flashing on the screen.

Just as Bill prepared to start a guy stood up an the back and shouted "FORMAT C COLON RETURN"

Haha. Now that would have been good to see. More amusing than the Windows 98 blue screen incident even... well, if it was real anyway
