i think the higher ranked players should not be able to play the low ranked players untill the 2nd or 3rd of the tournys to give them a better chance at getting somewhere in the tourny's much like how the F.A cup works.

Personally I think that's one of the good things about tournaments, you have no idea of who you will get and the rank they will be.

Also, the FA Cup doesn't run like that, it's completely random...It is known already, but just for a bit of proof, Liverpool v Arsenal 3rd Round of the FA Cup last year...

But if the top players can't play lower ranked players in the first two rounds, the top ranks will all eliminate each other before round 3.

What would naturally be the final would often be forced to take place in round one or two, and the actual tournament final would frequently be top ranked players v low ranked players, which will generally be uneven.

The only way round the problem would be for the top ranked players to not take part in rounds one or two, and join the tournament in round 3 which is how the FA Cup works.

That would give the lower ranked players a couple more competitive games I suppose, but I think it would be harsh to make the higher ranks wait three quarters of an hour to play a game.

i think its fine as it is. Its like the fa cup kind of! if you truly are worthy of winning a tournie you should be able to beat the best players anyway
