Not for me.

When a user creates an account they chose their own username, if that user chooses to give themself a name which they grow to dislike it is entirely their fault. The option of deleting your account and creating a new one is there.

The rules clearly state:

"You cannot change your username on funkypool. Your account details including your stats and profile are unique to that username."

One of the points of this forum is the suggesting of changes and improvements that can make the site more user friendly.

What is being discussed here are options, which may or may not go on to be adopted.

What if ideas like "can we have tournaments", "i'd like to play 9ball too", "how about a start game button", "can we have userpics" for example had all been shut down as they wern't already there?

Change is good.

I'v never suggested changing the username, only the name displayed.

This is very common on other gaming sites and forums so it obviously works.

I think it would make moderating a bit awkward in my opinion, getting names mixed up etc.

they have a valid reason for their creation. this in my opinion would cause utter confusion. When potsmoker became quick_pot nick made a special thread just as to avoid confusion. This was just one player having their name changed. Imagine if all the online users started creating aliases. Might become slightly too confusing.
