after seeing this thread http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=1879 i just wondered could it be possible for funkypool to have a 3D game engine ?

Short answer is yes! (but with an awful lot of work for Nick!)
But a lot of things are involved there.
To clarify what i meant in that thread - a 3D game engine would be required in order to be able to limit spin options when against the rail/another ball etc.
The only reason for having another thread would be if you meant to also incorporate cue angle/butt height, or move towards a fully 3D game.
I seriously doubt the second would happen, and hope it doesn't! There are plenty of 3D pool sites out there, why take funkypool and make it yet another one?
As for involving 3D physics like vertical cue angle, yes, would be great, but only on a simulation table.
I think any move from the 2D game on the existing tables would remove from their playability and simple FUN factor.

The US balls are already rendered in 3D.
However this is aimed as a classic styled game that can be played anywhere.

True, i'm not a genius but 3D games require more....what's the word...erm...memory?
I don't know, but i know this game beats any other on the net...3D or not.

This game is good because it isn't 3-d, it's fast and simple to get hold of.
