i went to pm a moderator other day to ask question and it said " this person is in a game and doesnt accept private messages"

is it me or does moderators have to accept private messages in game or not?

if it is a new mod there was a similar thing on snooker and it just turned out to be a new mod who had forgot to turn off the box after promotion. if it wasnt then i dont think they have to but it would be helpful obviously to be able to pm them instead of going to find them

This has happened to me too, and nope, it wasnt a new mod it was an oldie

Moderators are players too. Also if they are getting bombarded with PM's while in a game then they might be left with no other choice.

I think in future it would be better to use the contact us button Jon, or contact a mod in game, rather than making a thread which will ultimately go in a bad direction.

Mods don't block PM's as a rule, and it's not a facility I ever use.

But, the facility isn't removed for mods, and it's possible the instance you mention may have been in one-off circumstances. He may even have switched it on for a few mins due to being hassled by spammers in-game, or similar.

I think it's worth remembering 1_eye's point that mods are players too. They voluntarily give their time to moderate the site and help out others, and so it would be a little harsh to complain when one isn't on call 24/7.

very true just look at it from a mods point of view
just imagine you are in a tournament but you just get thousands of pm i don't think you would like it
and im sure there would be more then 1 mod on so just use the find player then moderator/admin button
