i have noticed over the last few months that people are starting to use more underscores at the start of their names (eg... _name_ )
When I 1st joined (for the 1st time in ausgust last year), i would find that 9 times out of 10, my name would be at the top of the list of names in the chat room (as my name start with an A)
But now, its 9 times out of 10 that my name cant even be SEEN in the list unless you scroll down as everyone is starting to use underscores_ and zeros as O's.
So i dont know if this is just....freaky or if people HAVE to be seen on top of the list of people in the chat room to feel important.
And more and more people are doing it...

Like _flumpy_
Whilst a few may do it for this reason, i would expect most simply use the underscores as a way of having the username they want despite it already being taken by someone else.

why do you care? who is bothered if they are at the top of the list. And didnt you used to be called_aflumpire_ which was why you were top of the list and then _flumpy_ so you must want to be at the top

The reason isn't to be top of the chat room. It would have something to do with the ratings, in particular the Pro games i should imagine where there are a lot of users on the same rating.
After ranking, the positions are determined alphabetically, users are exploiting this to give them the best chance of getting a higher position.

oh. ok...now i see what it is.
infact having a name starting with A helps me with my mini golf rankings (score of 12 or 13)

I think that it's an issue that could be addressed in the future as it does create a slight advantage to those with a certain username over others. This being unfair should, in time, be changed to a fairer system in my opinon. However the advantage it does give isn't really that much so shouldn't take priority over...well most things

oh this is poo, i had underscores for like 8 million years while i was on pool sharks and snooker. i didn't even realize that the underscores put me in the top of the list until just recently. plu....in tournament, the people with underscores get put on the bottom of the "joined" list.
