EDIT: This idea has probably been suggested before, but it would be such a good addition to the site, and an answer to a lot of the problems, I think it's simply too good to miss!

Many sites these days have polls, which help the admins to improve and popularise the site based on the members' opinions. I reckon that having weekly polls on Funkypool would benefit the site hugely.

The future of the 'Pro' games could be decided with the help of polls, as could the possible Premium features that the most members would be prepared to pay for.

These are just a few of the questions that could be answered, however there are many more .

If i recall correctly, the reason pools havn't been used is that they provide figures with no substance.

The open discussion format encouraged here lets all users put thier views across, and allows admin to take the appropriate decisions.

I have nothing against poll's, but the current system has served the site very well so far.

The direction option forums i use at work have a system of having to make a 200 or so character post before being able to vote. This system works well because people cant just cast a vote without an opinion.

Fair point. The biggest problem however with the current system is how few people use these forums (compared with the number of active members).

What I'm proposing is putting the poll (nothing too fancy, just maybe a small box with a few options) on the homepage where everyone will see it. Opinions could be given in just a few clicks, and the results would be in percentages easy to read.

Sometimes figures can speak louder than words .
