People get cocky when they win in tounerment Write what you think

well it depends if there a good player and if so then there expections go to a higher level so they become more confident in there game play.but generally it just depends on who the opponent is who they are facing.

That's a harsh generalisation.

Most people who've beaten me in tourny finals have been fine, and in no way cocky.

But when I win a tourny, I DO get really cocky, usually doing a sarcastic dance in my opponents face, waggling my fingers on the tip of my nose and making loud whooping sounds.

Actually, I made that bit up. Everyone (inc me) just says gg, wp, ul etc.

I think you must have just had a bad opponent. They're not usually like that, and I've lost to loads

What about people who go round rooms sayin the tourni win is theres from the 1st round? Ring any bells anyone?

sore losers are worse just say gg wp gl i have people sayin you should have let me win. like i enter a tournament to get to the semi final and let someone beat me on purpose!!!

Don't seem too play too many cocky players or bad losers. Worst i got was not in a tourney, I once beat a guy by a fair amount 6-2, 7-2 or something and blamed it on new screen resolution, claiming he usually beats players of rank 900 and above (of which there are only 3 in 8 Ball UK). I just said maybe later and left. Just said maybe later and left.

I find most of the people are good, and friendly. It's a site of over 80,000, you're bound to get the odd few, and also i think we all might have had the odd bad day, when we are more grouchy than normal? I played one of the top players once in a final or semi, and beat him, he was real annoyed and just left without saying a word, was a little shocked at his behaviour, but later found he was just having a bad day, which he apologised for. So you might want to take that into account.

In my experience most people on here are disappointed when they lose, which is perfectly normal by the way, but are nothing but courteous.

They are the occasional few who cant seem to be nice to anyone, which again is normal, I enjoy laughing at them!

As for the being cocky....... I think we've all been guilty of that at some time, it generally comes from beating someone of a higher caliber than yourself, why not feel proud about it?

Feel proud inside, show compassion outside.

Never really had that problem. I mean I got beaten in a tourney final yesterday and he was cool about it. In fact I was the one who had the right to be annoyed as I'd won 2-0 up till then and then gave it away by not playing well enough (I lost heart after he pulled it back to 1-1), but ya win some, ya lose some, and if someone is so ainal as to rub it in your face as if they are better and holier than thou, that's their problem. It's an indication of what they're like in the real world.

And if I won a tourney, I'd be very, very pleased with myself. I mean I spend most of my time on the forums (and lately playing golf) as opposed to playing pool. Wouldn't be cocky, mind (at least I hope so), just very elated.

never met anyone who was cocky after beating me ( and neither they should be becuase its no great acheivement) just people who dont say gg ul or something after it but most people are really firnedly

gg = good game. Some people will realise that the standard of play by one or both players was muck and won't say gg, and they're right

ul = unlucky. Again if the losing player wasn't really unlucky, no point in saying it. In fgact, it might be seen as rubbing an opponent's nose in it, particularly if they played brutal.
